UPDATE: 8/12 : Last weekend Instagram updated their service so that users and upload videos rather than force users to create them from scratch. Mashable shares How Brands Are Using Instagram’s New Video Upload Feature
I’ve been using Instagram ever since it became available to Android and it quickly became one of my favorite social sharing sites. What I really like about Instagram is that it does not bound you to character-limits and like the old saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Well three weeks ago, Instagram just made posting worth more than 15 thousand words by adding the option to upload up to 15 second videos to our feeds. While Instagram is becoming more mainstream for business use, brands who are already using Instagram have started to use this feature and share “InstaClips” with their followers.
According to Simply Measured, a social analytics site, released a quarterly Instagram study found that 67% of the Interbrand 100 Top Brands are on Instagram. Since the recent feature release, 16% of the top brands have started sharing videos with their audience. The top five brands using these videos are averaging 3x the average engagement per video. So what brands are creating the buzz? Scroll below and find out!

I definitely see the trend increase with brands because not only is there more engagement with consumers as Simply Measured points out, its the fact that the videos are real… Instagram-recorded videos can only be published into the feed. These videos make brands more “human” instead of another quick ad from my favorite brand. My favorite out of these 5 was definitely Nike as it captured moments of Brazil’s Neymar Jr. before one of the Confederations Cup matches.
